In the electrical discharge machining (EDM) sector, the die sinking EDM machinery category is generally categorized into two inventories. One is CNC die sinking machines and the other is ZNC die sinking machines. Both series feature high quality and high efficiency for modern industrial processing, as the EDM process now becomes one of the common methods of making prototypes and production parts of business products, especially in the aerospace, automotive, and electronics industries.
In general, electrical discharge machining is a machining method primarily used for hard metals or those that would be very difficult to machine with traditional techniques. EDM typically works with materials that are electrically conductive, even if the methods have also been proposed for using EDM to machine insulating ceramics. EDM can cut intricate contours or cavities in pre-hardened steel without the need for heat treatment to soften and re-harden them. This method can be utilized with any other metal or metal alloy such as titanium.
