Similar to other mechanical models, machining centers also have some classifications. There are three main construction methods that constitute a moving column machining center.
Most of the machining angles can be achieved using only the swing head. This machine is considered to be the most convenient, and then other models, such as four plus one and three plus two machining centers, which have more practical advantages. Traditional machining centers are designed with at least three axes, namely x, y, and z. Moving column machining centers are used to process large and thick workpieces. Under normal circumstances, the machining will produce large and intolerant vibration effects on the frame, which usually results in uncontrollable deviations from the target accuracy. Therefore, the usage of two fixed and strong support columns can reduce the cutting vibration and increase the rigidity of the tool, and provide the best production results with the best accuracy.
